Agricultural Products are being cultivated across the world with meager information on where to sow crops, the best season to sow them, and how to optimize the production of crops, so that only necessary land is being utilized for agriculture. Land is an important resource that can be used for many other purposes. If we optimize the land usage for agriculture, Naturally, farmers who don't produce good agricultural products or don't possess land at cultivatable places will migrate to other industries. They may lease their land to factories to be utilized for industrial production or for infrastructure projects.
Always Cultivate crops on the most suitable lands for every crop
Crops should be cultivated on lands that have traditionally been proven to be best suited for crop production. It should be cultivated in lands that maximize their production. Weather, Rain, Water table, soil texture, fertility, organic content, soil color, nutrient content, etc. will have to be examined before cultivating a crop so that we get the best crops with maximum yield and quality.
Form an ecosystem around suitable lands
The cultivation of crops in the areas most suited for that crop should form an ecosystem around it. The ecosystem should contain related industries that augment the production, process the output, give knowledge to farmers regarding the latest scientific developments in that crop or related crops, know-how on markets available for that crop both inside and outside the country, pricing of the crops in the international market, through online and offline workshops. It should connect industry persons who would like to procure crops and brand them, co-operative societies who may brand their products, and provide transportation office details. It should give allied industry options like spirits from molasses, nearby sugar mills for sugarcane production, vegetable cooling refrigeration facilities, flower markets, and exports to factories that produce perfumes.
Minimum Support Price
MSP is the Support price that will be given to farmers in case the price of the crops falls for any reason below the nationally determined price. High MSP will be given to good crops if necessary, in case the price falls below the determined High MSP. Sub-medium crops will be procured for Ration Shops with fixed determined low MSP. Low MSP will not change. No MSP will be given to farmers who produce very poor-quality crops. This will eradicate unnecessary and overproduction of crops.
Nationwide Agricultural Portal for updating the production of different crops
A crop database that gives you up-to-date information about all the crops under cultivation can be used to gauge the price and necessary correction required if a crop is available more on the production pipeline. If we tell the farmers beforehand about the crop available in the pipeline, they will choose other crops because the crop price will be low for crops that are abundantly available in the pipeline. The government should also ensure through this portal that enough crop is produced which is required for the country's needs (125%). Only after our needs are fulfilled, they will allow unrestricted export of crops. Private Brands and Cooperative societies (similar to Amul Brand) should report whether they have procured enough crops that have met 125% needs of the nation. Only good quality crops will obviously be exported. Sub-medium-quality crops required for ration shops will be tracked too. But their procurement will not be in areas near cities or where infrastructural requirements like roads and factories are there. Once 125% of the Ration shop limits of all the cardholders are met, procurement will stop. We will announce it beforehand, based on the data in the pipeline.
How to update the Nationwide Agricultural Portal
1. Phone Numbers will act as farmers' land-owning ID numbers. All record IDs will be Mobile Numbers for both online and offline purposes. Aadhaar cards will be linked to phone numbers. No requirement for Aadhaar every time. OTP is enough.
2. Altitudes and longitudes can be measured from Mobile phone GPS. Farmers should stand in 4 corners of "every piece" of land and click a button on the Mobile App. Automatically verify with online pattas using AI for assistance. Discrepancies of irregularities like overlapping will be reported to Gram Panchayats for resolution.
3. We can provide Automated Calls with AI in local languages which will be available to receive information. The calls will simply ask three things in the local language. Farmers will report their sowing period, crops, and crop quantity, which will be verified by Satellite Images.
4. In every district Agricultural Offices will be opened and Officers will be there in every district to clarify calls not understood by AI.
Nationwide Agricultural Portal for markets available near the Agricultural Lands
The Nationwide Agricultural Portal can be used for marketing purposes to sell high-MSP farmers' products to private brands through online services, in cases necessary. Private Brands will usually come and procure themselves. Farmers can contact the private brands through mobile numbers available in the Portal. The proposal for the procurement of crops can also be seen in the Portal. Private Brands may publish that they want a certain amount of crops with a certain variety from a certain land.
Satellite and crop imaging for suitability of lands for different crop production and timing to sow the crops
Weather and land imaging will be used to inform farmers which areas are suitable for crop production based on the fertility of lands and weather conditions necessary to sow that particular crop variety. The time suitable for sowing crops based on weather conditions should be found and informed to the farmers. This data will be used to calculate which farming land is eligible for High MSP.
Precision Farming with AI and Satellite imaging
Precision farming informs the farmers regarding the fertility of crops, and the proper time needed to perform each process of farming, directly to their phones through voice calls. The farmer when free should call that number from his registered mobile number to get the details. Different farm sectors owned by the same farmer will have simple names or numbers 1, 2, 3 whatever he prefers to register. AI upon receiving the call from his Mobile Number will tell the farmer about farming practice details specific to his farm, after capturing satellite images of his land. This information will be processed by AI with vast knowledge of farming and satellite imagery of all farmers who sow the same variety of crops. This is reinforced learning of Farming AI, which can be captured across the nation or even the world.
Government's mandatory requirement of Crop levels
Indian Government requires to keep 25% more level of crops than required by the country on an average year. This will be procured from farmers in High high-yielding Traditional sector of lands. Farmers in those areas will be given high MSP, in case the price of their crop falls below a certain level discussed and determined by the farmer's association and government body together. In case the price goes up, farmers will not bother about High MSP. Private Brands and cooperative societies (like Amul Brand) will procure crops from farmers in those sectors determined by the government body. These lands are best suited for good crop production. Once this level (125%) of the country's requirements are met, with good crops, farmers are allowed to export unrestricted to any country at any level they wish.
Export and Import Agreements
Countries that import from India should sign agreements to export to India when their crops are abundant and when India needs food crops. It is an international two-way agreement, which benefits not only India but the whole international community. Exports will be done in parts, with crops every season, every cycle, and every year. Around the year crops will be exported.
Who will sow crops and where?
Anyone can sow crops anywhere. There is no restriction to anyone's rights to their occupation or trade. Anyone can sell their agricultural product anywhere, if there is a market for their products, or even export them. But MSP will be determined only for good crops and for purchase by government Ration shops. High MSP will be allocated to the traditional sector of lands which is known to give the best quality for that particular variety of crop.
Procurement of crops will be across all varieties of crops in all fertile cultivable lands so that all varieties of crops are available in India. That procurement will be procured in such a way that 125% of our needs are met. This should have varieties which sell with more profits and there should also be a minimum quantity available on all variety of crops. This minimum will be mostly procured by specialized institutions like restaurants, supermarkets, and brands exclusively selling these unique products. Ask all of them to order in the Nationwide Agricultural Portal. Once their orders are met, procurement is finished.
Private brands and Cooperative Societies (like Amul Brand) will procure from each farmer in every variety of crop a certain amount which covers 125%. Once this criterion is met and every High MSP receiving farmer sells their quota or part of good crops, the remaining will be exported unrestricted, without quota. Example: Suppose there are 10 farmers with 10 quintals of crops each, and 125% of the requirement is 80 quintals. Each farmer has to give 8 quintals so that 8*10 = 80 quintals are procured. The farmer from then on can export not only 2 quintals left but anything he cultivates afterwards with no restriction whatsoever. Until each high-MSP farmer sells his quota of crops every 6 months, he can't export. Once done, he can export at will.
Competition in Quality will determine their export options. There is no quota for exports. Anyone farmer can export their products to any country subject to international import and export agreements. This is to make sure, we get imports when required.
Possible sources to get the required level of the crop for the nation
- Brands have records and Supermarkets have billing records.
- Extract through automated software to get the overall trend in every district, which crops are most consumed.
- Ignore Ration shops. Even if shops increase the price of poor-quality crops, people who buy them are capable of buying good-quality crops.
- Ignore Ration Shops and calculate the total amount of crops sold in mandis.
